Richard Fahey Stable - Ebor Racing Club

Sunday 3rd March 2024

An exciting morning was in store as the Richard Fahey stable in Malton opened its doors to members of the Ebor Racing Club for another meet and greet with their horses.
With a large number of members, unsurprisingly given the connections to one of the leading trainers in the country, the Ebor Racing Club enters its eighth year in operation. Some of the original stars in the racing club such as Crownthorpe and Lady Celia may have moved on from the yard, but the vibes are positive that 2024 could see a new flag bearer with some smart equine talent.
My Little Queens won a valuable prize in front of the ITV cameras last year for the racing club and returns for more this season. Beattie Is Back has been lightly raced since winning twice in 2022, but retains plenty of scope. Installation joined the roster last year and was well regarded as a youngster and similar comments applied to Barefoot Angel, another recent transfer. The most exciting prospect on the books is Airman. The colt won in impressive fashion on his only start and was pencilled in for Group race assignments before injury curtailed his season. The future remains exciting with him along with a new batch of two year old horses who will take to the track in the upcoming months of 2024.

The Trainer:
The name Richard Fahey needs little introduction as he remains one of Britain's leading trainers on the flat. A powerhouse stable in the north of England, Fahey has amassed over three thousand winners and over sixty Group wins over his long training career as well as landing a long list of heritage handicaps around the country.
A dream double at Royal Ascot came courtesy of Perfect Power and The Ridler in 2022, but 2023 saw a more frustrating time of things in Britain. The likable Perfect Power left a large hole in the yard as he moved on to stud, but the seeds were planted for the next high class horse to come through. On the international scene, the six year old Spirit Dancer improved all year and crowned his season with a brilliant win in the prestigious Bahrain Trophy. On the day before the visit, Spirit Dancer furthered his worldwide status by winning the lucrative Neom Turf in Saudi Arabia.
His extra large team of horses will undoubtedly house plenty of talent and the success of Spirit Dancer can inspire others to their own glory. Wooton'sun landed a valuable middle distance handicap at Haydock, while Ramazan improved all season to finish second in listed company on his final start of the year. Ziggy's Condor ran just three times as a two year old but did nothing wrong all season, he holds plenty of potential for sprint handicaps this year. The likes of Tropical Island, Sailthisshipalone and Flaccianello all had good first seasons and could have more to offer now they have turned three year olds.

With thanks to Richard Fahey, the Ebor Racing Club and all the staff involved for a great morning visit.

A full stable visit gallery can be found at the bottom of the page.

Meet The Horses:

MY LITTLE QUEENS - Sire: Mastercraftsman - Dam: Spiralling - Born: 2018

Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Runs: 28 - Wins: 6 - Placings: 6
The longest serving member of the Ebor Racing Club is the likable grey mare My Little Queens. Entering her fifth season of racing, she has enjoyed a fine career so far and there have plenty of highlights along the way.

After going winless as a two year old, the daughter of Mastercraftsman improved over the winter and for a step up in distance. A first victory was gained in a class six at Musselburgh in June 2021 and within a fortnight, she added a second win to her belt. There would be room for one more win as she landed a third career win at Ayr in September of that year.
2022 would be a larger display of her ability and she began her season in the best possible way with victory on her reappearance. My Little Queens would continue to run well in defeat throughout the season and even flirted with class three company. 2023 began in similar fashion to the previous year as the mare won on her first start at Chelmsford, but it would be later in the year when her moment in the spotlight came. Racing in the Sunday Series mini-league, broadcast on ITV Racing, she stayed on stoutly at the finish to land a valuable handicap at Hamilton. The joy of her owners was there for everyone to see and it will live long in the memory of the club.
My Little Queens has begun 2024 quietly thus far, with two low key runs on the all-weather. However, as time has shown, she is much more adept on the turf and it wouldn't be a surprise to see her add to her win tally. Currently rated at 73 after a high of 78, there will be plenty of opportunities for My Little Queens around the region and further afield. She is well named to fill the title of Queen of the Club.

BEATTIE IS BACK - Sire: Mayson - Dam: Miss Fifty - Born: 2019
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 12 - Wins: 2 - Placings - 2

Raising awareness for a good charity, Beattie Is Back has also proven his ability on track in a relatively short career. Having missed the majority of last year, everyone involved will be eager to see Beattie Is Back on the racecourse once again.

Beattie Is Back's career helps to raise awareness for the Kevin Beattie Foundation, a charity named in honour of former Ipswich Town footballer Kevin Beattie. The charity helps to work with illnesses and mental wellbeing and any prize money won by the horse goes towards their charity.
Beattie Is Back has suffered setbacks himself, but at the 2022 he was heading in the right direction. Gaining a first career win at Newcastle at the end of January 2022, he delivered on the promise he had shown in his two other starts. He would be absent for nine months and made his reappearance in the lottery-like Bronze Cup at Ayr, a cavalry charge of a handicap. He finished towards the rear, but it showed the regard he was held in. Gaining race fitness with each run, Beattie Is Back made a return to the winner's enclosure in at the end of December to bookend the year with success. He was seen just twice in the early part of the turf season last year and he managed two midfield finishes. 2024 will be another clean slate, but given his profile and liking for the all-weather surfaces, there will be more wins in his locker.

CAPTAIN DANDY - Sire: Dandy Man - Dam: La Chita Bona - Born: 2020
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 14 - Wins: 2 - Placings: 1
A lesson learned in racehorse ownership is that you don't need a superstar to have fun in racing. The four year old Captain Dandy has improved with experience and gained his wins in lowly company.

The Dandy Man gelding started out his racing career in novice events where he would struggle for form initially, but the experience gained would come in useful. Having looked limited before, Captain Dandy showed a glimmer of hope on his sixth start when finishing fourth behind a prolific winner at the time. Just two months later and dropped down in trip, the then three year old won in some style at Wolverhampton in March 2023 with the help of Jo Mason. The pair would romp away with victory and reward his owners with their patience. Since then, his form has a much more respectable look to it. Finishing runner up at Carlisle in the summer of last year, he then gained a second success at Thirsk in a selling race. The racing club made sure to keep their improved gelding and the hope now is that Captain Dandy can have another good season this year at a low level.

ROMAN SECRET - Sire: Holy Roman Emperor - Dam: Secret Existence - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 6 - Wins: 1 - Placings: 3
The first of the three year olds in the racing club improved with racing and starts 2024 with a good amount of potential from a good family.

Roman Secret is bred for middle distances as a half sister to Have Secret, a fellow stablemate who was placed in handicaps at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood. Have Secret also came alive when racing over ten furlongs so there is hope that Roman Secret can emulate his success. Making her debut at Doncaster in mid-July, she looked inexperienced but still posted a good run to chase home Snafiya, a filly who went on to race at class two level. Running well in defeat throughout the rest of the summer, Roman Secret's first career best came at Nottingham over a mile on heavy ground. The conditions brought out the stamina reserves of all the horses but Roman Secret ran all the way to the line to take second. She would then gain a deserved first success on her final start in 2023 at Wolverhampton where she caused a bit of a surprise given her odds. The filly would show a determined attitude to fight back and take the win.
There are grounds for excitement with Roman Secret this year as she has a low rating which could be exploited and rack up a sequence of wins. With her stamina seemingly confirmed, handicaps over ten furlongs or further will be on the cards and more success could be on the way.

TANTOMILE - Sire: Bobby's Kitten - Dam: Footlight - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Runs: 2 - Wins: 0 - Placings: 0

With just two starts to date which have shown only a slight bit of promise, it is likely that Tantomile fits the longer term prospect profile like some of her other club representatives.

The filly turned three at the start of 2024 and the daughter of American sire Bobby's Kitten comes from a family which the Fahey stable know well. Her dam Footlight and grand-dam Wood Fairy were both trained on the Musley Bank grounds and achieved success at a low level. Further back in the pedigree is the high class stayer of the early 2000's, Franklins Gardens; winner of a Yorkshire Cup and sixth in an Ascot Gold Cup.

Tantomile would make her debut just before Christmas at Wolverhampton over five furlongs, but she found things happening too quickly. Slightly awkward from the stalls, she was always at the rear of the field and never had a chance. She would make her most recent start at Lingfield in early February where she fared a little better. Racing keenly behind a steady pace, Tantomile made some nice headway before her energy bar hit zero and she faded into sixth. The filly looks set for low level handicaps and there could be some improvement to come given her family's stamina influence. Footlight won three times over ten furlongs and more, so once Tantomile steps up in trip there could be a winning opportunity to find.

AIRMAN - Sire: Dandy Man - Dam: Nova Acquilae - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 1 - Wins: 1  - Placings: 0

The story of 2023 is one of "what could have been" for Airman and the racing club as his season ended early. He showed a high amount of potential and members will have everything crossed that he can continue his rise through the ranks upon his return.
The good looking colt has a handy mix of speed and stamina in his breeding which opens up different race options for him. A son of leading sprint sire Dandy Man, he is also out of an unraced mare who herself was a daughter of Irish History, the Group One placed filly for Godolphin. The smart handicapper Long Tradition features in the pedigree which gives Airman plenty of class.

Making his debut at Beverley at the end of July 2023, heavy ground on the day would make the ground testing for any horse; not just one making his debut. Well supported in the betting, the newcomer travelled through the race with purpose and was easy to pick out in the bunch. Once in the open, Airman flew and left his rivals in his wake, winning by just under three lengths in impressive fashion. At the time, the colt held an entry in the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes at York's Ebor Festival which showed the regard he was held in even before his debut. Everyone involved will have been eagerly awaiting his comeback as Airman has the potential and excitement of becoming the star of the Ebor Racing Club in the future.

SHOWHOUND - Sire: Showcasing - Dam: Foxcatcher - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 3 - Wins: 1 - Placings: 2
Representing the club from her first day in the yard, Showhound showed he was very capable in limited showings last year. He will begin 2024 on an upward curve and has the potential to be the racing club's dark horse.
The son of Showcasing, the Gimcrack Stakes winner who often produces plenty of speed in his progeny, Showhound made his debut at Catterick at the end of July. The North Yorkshire venue is a tricky venue to run at, especially for horses making their first appearance. Showhound would be held up early on before making promising headway into third, catching the eye of many onlookers. Following a good debut, the gelding would get off the mark in dramatic fashion at Ayr. He would weave in all directions in the final stages due to inexperience, but he put his head down to deny Curious Rover in a close finsh. The runner up that day would be a very quick and well regarded juvenile so the display was boosted. Just two weeks later, Showhound would be back in action at Redcar in another novice race. Racing on slightly quicker ground than before, he finished well and was slightly hindered in the closing stages. Going down by a head, it was yet another good run in a busy period.
Showhound has yet to reappear since his last race in August, but it is likely he will be ready to go as soon as the turf season begins in a few weeks.

HAWORTH STAR - Sire: Bated Breath  - Dam: Days Of Summer - Born: 2020
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 8 - Wins: 0 - Placings: 1

A lightly raced four year old, Haworth Star took a while to find his feet and briefly showed there was talent under the bonnet.
The son of Bated Breath was another to bide his time and improve with time at the stables as he didn't make his racecourse debut until May of 2023. Making his racing bow at Carlisle, he would push through inexperience and make good headway at the finish and took home fifth. The inexperience would still show on her second start at Ripon and he produced an identical run as her debut. Soft ground contributed to a below par run on his final start in novice company and handicaps would be the next port of call.

A final run on turf would prove disappointing, but Haworth Star turned a corner when switched to the all-weather surfaces. He would post a personal best effort at Wolverhampton when finishing which a strong late burst to take third, finishing on the tail of the winner. He would back that run up next time at Newcastle by battling hard and going down by the narrowest of margins. It showed that a win would be imminent, but his fortune would turn for the worse on his next two starts. Racing at Southwell in December, the saddle would slip at the halfway point which lost any sort of chance in the race. Returning to the Nottinghamshire venue at the end of December, Haworth Star would race too keenly to do himself justice.
Enjoying a mini break at the moment, Haworth Star has shown there are wins in his repertoire and once the stars align. With his better performances on the artificial surfaces, it will be likely that he sticks to those venues in the coming weeks.

THE NEW MARWAN - Sire: Dark Angel - Dam: Tiger Mist - Born: 2017
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) -  Races: 29 - Wins: 3 - Placings: 9  (total career)

A relatively new arrival to the club, the last six months have shown signs of ability on a range of surfaces.

Beginning life owned by the enigmatic businessman Marwan Koukash, The New Marwan was once a horse of good potential as a juvenile. Racing at a competitive level in his first season, he won for the first time on his third start. Over the course of the next four years, The New Marwan became a regular at Chester which was synonymous with the Koukash runners. Following his owner's exit from the sport in 2022, The New Marwan was moved to the Ebor Racing Club where he has enjoyed running at a lower level recently. He would finish second at Redcar on his second start for the club before a first win for his new owners came at Wolverhampton under the yard's leading amateur rider Eireann Cagney. The seven year old will unlikely reach the higher echelons of the sport as an exposed sort, but his uncomplicated ways will continue to serve him well in amateur rider races as a good teacher for young jockeys.

INSTALLATION - Sire: Tasleet - Dam: Silent Music - Born: 2020
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 8 - Wins: 1 - Placings: 2
A very lightly raced four year old entering the 2024 flat season, Installation has a fairly big reputation to live up to on track and owners will hope that the key is found to unlock that progress.
Installation was originally owned by Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum, who enjoyed plenty of highs with the Fahey stable courtesy of Perfect Power. A distant relative to Chester Oaks winner Hammiya, the colt was expected to become above average. Finishing third on his debut at York, he would chase home the smart juvenile Cold Case. The son of Tasleet would get off the mark at the third time of asking, but had to share the honours in a thrilling dead heat at Hamilton. 2023 was hoped to be a successful year for the three year old as a lightly raced sort who looked ideal for valuable handicaps. Things would not go to plan however and despite a third on his return to Hamilton, he would endure a low key season. Joining the Ebor Racing Club at the end of the year, Installation competed in competitive handicaps on the all weather. On the second occasion, he showed a little more life by staying on at the finish. Despite the promise, he would return home lame and has since spent more time off the track.

There have been flashes of ability on occasions throughout his career, but with a clean run through 2024, there will be plenty of options to regain some of his dented reputation.

TRUE NATION - Sire: Sioux Nation - Dam: Violet Ribbon - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 9 - Wins: 0 - Placings: 1

A filly who like some of her club mates has become disappointing recently, the hopes of her owners will be pinned on gaining a first victory this year.

The daughter of Sioux Nation comes from an upbringing of the highest quality as her sire and dam Violet Ribbon were both trained by the legendary Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle. Sioux Nation would become a top class sprinter by winning the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, but Violet Ribbon was not as illustrious on the track. True Nation is also a distant relative to the smart hurdler Her Indoors.

True Nation's career on track has been one of mixed fortunes so far. Initially, things looked bright as she finished runner up at Catterick on her second start, but things quickly went downhill. In seven races since that placing, she has been well beaten over a range of surfaces and distances. Just like most horses, things will click eventually, but it appears that the cards have to fall just right for True Nation.

ALIBI WARNING - Sire: Soldier's Call - Dam: Catalina Bay - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 6 - Wins: 0 - Placings: 0

Another whose career has been stop and start, there have been flashes of potential nestled amongst the form figures and it is hope that Alibi Warning can be another to gain a first win.

The daughter of Soldier's Call took time to learn her job and would finish no better than midfield on her first three starts. Dropping to six furlongs at Southwell in early December, Alibi Warning posted one of her better efforts by finishing strongly into fourth place and hinting she had turned the corner. That wouldn't be the case however as another poor run followed that good fourth place. She would be back in action once again just after New Year's Day, but struggled from a modest gallop and weakened away.
With a hit and miss look to her profile, Alibi Warning is hard to predict. However it wouldn't be a surprise if a first win came without warning from Alibi Warning.

BAREFOOT ANGEL - Sire: Dark Angel - Dam: Love In The Desert - Born: 2020
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 6 - Wins: 2 - Placings: 1

A high class and exciting recruit to the racing club, Barefoot Angel could easily bounce back and return to her very best in the orange and black silks.
The signs of ability were made clear instantly as Barefoot Angel finished second at Ripon on her debut. The winner of that race would be the subsequent Group Two Lowther Stakes winner Swingalong. A maiden win would be a formality on her next start and it prompted big dreams for her owner Heather Steel. Racing at Ayr for the Group Three Firth Of Clyde Stakes on the prestigious Ayr Gold Cup meeting, she would cause a surprise by landing the valuable contest under Paul Mulrennan. Her rider would be very complimentary about her in the post race interview. Her final start of 2022 would be the Redcar Champion 2-Year-Old Trophy in a talented field. Barefoot Angel would be outpaced at the start before finishing well into fourth place.
2023 began with Classic aspirations, but after finishing tailed off in the Nell Gwynn Stakes at Newmarket, those dreams were quickly extinguished. Following wind surgery, Barefoot Angel would race just once more in 2023; a valuable heritage handicap at York in which she finished just out of the frame.
The Ebor Racing Club has yet to win a Group race, but with a filly of this quality and proven form at the level, this year could be an exciting one for all involved.

SOUTH PARADE - Sire: Invincible Army - Dam: Rural Celebration - Born: 2021
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 4 - Wins: 0 - Placings: 1

Another new addition to the club for 2024 who was originally owned by Richard Fahey's longstanding owner Heather Steel, South Parade remains a lightly sort whose better days could come in the black and orange silks of Ebor Racing.

The three year old filly is a daughter of the talented sprinter Invincible Army, a multiple winner at Group level and placed at the highest level. South Parade's dam Rural Celebration was a hardy sprinter herself, winning seven times mostly over five furlongs. She is a half sister to the smart Country Carnival who placed in the listed Marygate Fillies' Stakes. With a pedigree for sprinting, it wasn't surprising to see South Parade start out over six furlongs. Making her debut at Thirsk, she ran with credit to finish seventh but hung noticeably to her left. A similar result would follow on her second start, but there would be improvement shown at Beverley; this time on heavy ground. She still displayed her tendency to hang left, but would be overtaken by two smart horses, including the promising winner Enchanting. Her final start of the year would come at Wolverhampton where a wide draw proved problematic and the filly ran the long way throughout.
Connections will feel that South Parade didn't show her true potential last way, partly down to her wayward running style. The promise of her third place hinted at some ability and low level handicaps beckon where she could pick up a win or two in the future.

SOUTHERN VOYAGE - Sire: Wooton Bassett - Dam: Blue Blue Sea - Born: 2018
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 18 - Wins: 4 - Placings: 4  (career total)

A once very classy sort when he first emerged on the scene, Southern Voyage has sadly lost his way. Fingers will be crossed that the he rekindle the fire that shone brightly one time.

Starting his career with Archie Watson, Southern Voyage made his racecourse debut as a three year old back in 2021. Once stepped up to middle distances, he flourished and gained a hat trick of wins in his first season. During a light 2022 campaign, he rounded the year off with a fourth victory. He then joined the Richard Fahey stable, swapping Newmarket for North Yorkshire, but after a year's absence he failed to show the initial promise again. Joining the racing club at the end of October last year, Southern Voyage has been kept busy on the all-weather circuits but has finished in seventh place at best from five starts.
Horses can be complex animals, but there is normally a solution to be found eventually. His form this year will come under scrutiny in regards to his racing career, but if he can be revitalised, there is still a good horse under the bonnet.

ROB'S UMBRELLA - Sire: Showcasing - Dam: Radhaadh - Born: 2021

Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 3 - Wins: 0 - Placings: 0

A nicely bred colt who has already showed promise of a win in the near future, Rob's Umbrella could be another dark horse to follow in the racing club's ownership.

A son of the predominantly sprint orientated Showcasing, Rob's Umbrella is also out of Radhaadh, a mare who raced for Sheikh Hamdam al Maktoum. The colt is a distant relative to the brilliant miler Mustashry, winner of the 2019 Lockinge Stakes at Group One level. With that kind of breeding, Rob's Umbrella will have his fair share of success as well. After missing the whole of 2023, Rob's Umbrella made his debut in early January of this year at Southwell. Running over a slightly inadequate six furlongs, he did his best work at the finish by keeping on into fourth. Just two weeks later, he was back in action; this time at a stormy Newcastle. Running over a furlong longer, Rob's Umbrella hassled the early leader and eventual winner, Only In Jakarta. He would be passed by two rivals close home but still finished a highly respectable fourth.
He would be in action twelve hours prior to the stable visit as he took part in a novice race at Southwell. Yet to do much wrong so far, Rob's Umbrella has the potential to be smart.

GINCIDENT - Sire: Cotai Glory - Dam: Sava Sunset - Born: 2020
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Races: 18 - Wins: 4 - Placings: 4

The syndicated horse of Ebor Racing, Gincident has been a likable sort and continued to improve with racing. Starting this year with a tally of four wins, he could add further success in 2024.
Making his debut back in the spring of 2022 at Pontefract, Gincident had a good first day at school by staying on nicely into third. Some of the immediate promise of that first run was lost as his form went slightly backwards, but he would break his duck at the end of the same year. Following from a career best of second at Southwell, Gincident arrived at Wolverhampton in late November and delivered his first success. A second win was just around the corner as he began 2023 in similar style, by winning an all-weather championship finals fast track qualifier. Optimism would rise further as Gincident won for the third time on the artificial surfaces with another Wolverhampton victory. He then showed he could perform on turf by winning at Musselburgh in a memorable Sunday Series success live on ITV Racing. He would provide inspiration for My Little Queens to follow suit a few weeks later.
After enjoying a deserved break from the track between July and October, Gincident has gradually improved with each run over the winter. Finishing just out of the frame but not beaten far, he has threatened to go close in the near future.

TREACLE VILLA - Sire: River Boyne - Dam: Princess Eva - Born: 2022
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Unraced.

It would be an exciting time for Ebor Racing Club members as they had the first chance to meet the latest generation of horses to race.

The colt Treacle Villa is by the sire River Boyne, a once Irish trained horse who became an expat to America. On the track, River Boyne raced three times for Gordon Elliott and finished runner up twice before getting purchased by Jeff Mullins to run in the States. He quickly became a star in American racing by winning a pair of Grade Two races and competing at the highest level. A deserved Grade One victory came at Santa Anita in 2020 and he has performed well at stud since retirement. River Boyne has since moved back to his homeland and this crop of two year olds will be the first to race in Britain. Treacle Villa's dam Princess Eva was a lightly raced sort, but came from a high class family. Treacle Villa is a distant relative to the Irish Oaks and Prix de l'Opera winner Covert Love, which adds substance to his breeding.
The coming weeks and months will bring optimism about Treacle Villa as he counts down the clock to making her debut. On breeding alone, his optimal trip should be around ten furlongs.

Unnamed Filly - Sire: Buratino - Dam: Moody Blue - Born: 2022

Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Unraced

The next filly to be showcased was a daughter of Buratino, the very tough juvenile who won the Coventry Stakes in 2015 as part of a busy first season. At stud, Buratino has had a handful of talented progeny to date, including the dual listed race winner in Ireland, Snaepraeterea.
The racing club have fond links to the dam Moody Blue, as she also produced the likable Johnny Boom; a chestnut who won three times for the club in 2021. The unnamed filly is also a half sister to the talented New Endeavour, an improving type who was placed in the Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot, in listed company at Newmarket and in the Group Two Hungerford Stakes. Further back in the family, the filly is a distant relative to the Group Three winner Luminous Eyes, trained by Dermot Weld.

With success in the family, this filly is one that could bring excitement about her by the time she makes her debut on track.

Unnamed Filly - Sire: Cotai Glory - Dam: Chiosina - Born: 2022
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Unraced

The next filly would feature a mix of speed and quality in her pedigree.A daughter of the rapid Cotai Glory, now a reliable stallion, the filly is also out of Chiosina; an experienced mare who has produced plenty of winners on track.
She is a half sister to the classy French filly Mixed Intentions, who won twice at listed level and went close in Group Two and Group three races. The mix of speed and stamina extracts will provide plenty of options for the filly once the season gets underway.

Unnamed Filly - Sire: Prince Of Lir - Dam: Great White Rover - Born: 2022
Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Unraced.

A diminutive filly in stature, the hopes will be that she can compensate size for success in 2024.

A February foal, she is a daughter of the speedy juvenile Prince Of Lir who won the Norfolk Stakes on the track before siring last season's Nunthorpe Stakes winner Live In The Dream. The progeny are often very quick so there is a lot of potential to become a pocket rocket.
The filly's dam is the relatively unknown mare Great White Rover, who was trained in Ireland by Paul Roche. On the track, she raced just three times and finished down the field on all starts. The mare comes from a decent family though and there is cause for optimism further down the bloodline. Great White Rover is a half sister to the capable handicapper Whiteball Wonder, winner of two huge field handicaps in 2009.
Already a two year old, the filly will have only a little bit of growing left to do in the next few months but sprinting contests will be on the agenda this season.

Unnamed Filly - Sire: Sands Of Mali - Dam: Miss Van Gogh - Born: 2022.

Race Record (As of 25th February 2024) - Unraced

This filly will be one the stable looks forward to given that both of her parents raced for Richard Fahey during their racing careers.
She is a daughter of first season sire Sands Of Mali, who broke onto the scene by winning the Gimcrack Stakes at York, a highlight of the juvenile calendar. The following year, he would go on to with the Group One Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot, avenging his narrow defeat at the Royal meeting earlier in the season. His first crop of youngsters have been well received and it will be interesting to see how Sands Of Mali fares against other newcomer sires.

The filly is out of Miss Van Gogh, a five time winner who rose through the ranks and placed in a handicap on Epsom Oaks day in 2016. Given the stable know her family inside out, they should be able to find the right race for her in the future.
