Kevin Phillipart De Foy Stable

A fine import to Britain from Europe and recent times have seen his reputation enhanced, the stable of Kevin Phillipart De Foy is growing in stature. A native of Belgium, Kevin has worked with the very best trainers and some of Europe's best ever horses. His early tutelage in racing came from the legendary Irish trainer John Oxx, where he had the privilege of caring for one of the all time greats Sea The Stars in that magical year of 2009 where he won the 2000 Guineas, Derby, Irish Champion and Arc all in the same year. Phillipart De Foy has also worked with one of the leading ladies in French racing, Criquette Head-Maarek, from the prestigious Head family. During his time in France, he cared for, amongst others, the dual Arc winner Treve.
Setting up shop in Newmarket in late 2020, his Machell Place stable could hardly be in a better place. Located on the Old Station Road, a couple of steps across the road from the entrance gates lies the famous Warren Hill Gallops. So close is the facility, riders could reach the top of the hill and the kettle in the stable kitchen will be boiled by the time they come home. A first winner for the stable came just a month after the first runner which set things up nicely for 2021. Leading horse in that year was the juvenile Pearl Glory who finished second in a Group Three event and has kept to a useful standard. Last year also saw the emergence of a "New Kids On The Block" partnership with apprentice jockey Benoit de la Sayette. The pair would make an instant impact in red hot form which would see the young jockey De La Sayette move to leading trainer John Gosden.
Enjoying an even better season this year, Kevin continues to impress. The best day of his career to date came at Ascot racecourse where the stable landed two valuable handicaps with Juan De Montalban and the Victoria Cup winner Vafortino in a memorable afternoon. Despite a recent sour split from a leading owner, the De Foy stable continues to grow with 76 career winners at the time of writing. Key horses include the aforementioned Vafortino, three time winner Covert Mission with Owners Group and useful handicappers Alrehb, Elsals and New Pursuit.
