Jedd O'Keeffe Stable Vist

Jedd O'Keeffe's Strait Of Hormuz in action at York, July 2021.

A dual purpose stable based in Leyburn, Jedd O'Keeffe's yard has established themselves as a leading operation in the Middleham area in the last few seasons and have ammunition for potential further success. The O'Keeffe name was propelled into the spotlight courtesy of the brilliant Sam Spinner, who landed the stable's first win at Grade One level in a memorable 2017-18 season. A nice prospect at the start of his career, Sam Spinner would win six of his first nine starts under national hunt rules, culminating in a win at the highest level at Ascot in the Grade One Long Walk Hurdle. He would go on to run with credit at the following two Cheltenham Festivals where he finished fourth and second in consecutive Stayers' Hurdles. O'Keeffe's stable are just as good at handling faster horses as well, proven by the exploits of the likes of Strait Of Hormuz, third in the 2021 John Smith's Cup Handicap at York, Air Raid, a classy 6 furlong sprinter who won the Scottish Stewards Cup in 2019, and classy stayer Rare Groove. The stable have yet to hit form yet, but the are backed up by support from faithful owners, supportive syndicates like Titanium Racing and syndicates featuring famous names including Mystic Moonshadow (owned by Bez from the Happy Mondays) and Burrow Seven (a charity fundraising syndicate for motor neurone disease, named and inspired by rugby league legend Rob Burrow)
