Amy Murphy Stable

An upwardly mobile stable with success on both sides of the Channel as well as in both racing codes, the future is bright at the stables of Amy Murphy. Gaining her experience as an assistant to Luca Cumani, Tom Dascombe and with Gai Waterhouse in Australia, Amy took out her own license in August 2016. As the daughter of leading National Hunt owner and breeder Paul Murphy, Amy has been well supported by her father and initially gained instant success in the jumps game with the likes of Mercian Prince and listed chase winner Kalane. In late 2017 came the emergence of Kalashnikov, an novice hurdler unbeaten in his first four starts before tasting defeat in the Grade One Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown. He would avenge the defeat however with a smart display in the richest handicap hurdle of the season, the Betfair Hurdle which set up a tilt at the Cheltenham Festival in the Grade One Supreme Novice Hurdle. In a thrilling finish, Kalashnikov would be denied by a neck, but as he switched to fences in the following season, a first Grade One victory for the stable would come at Aintree in 2019 to become the highest profile win to date. In recent years, Murphy has shared her focus to speedier types on the flat and is proving highly capable in that discipline as well. 2022 has seen the progression of new recruit Pride Of America win three of his five starts this year including wide margin wins in valuable events at Haydock and Chester. Alongside the success in Britain, Murphy has also found success on the continent, taking advantage of prize money bonuses in France to much acclaim. Briefly setting up a satellite stable in France, she has also created the Chasing Euros Racing Club which includes horses that are qualified for French races in hope of better prize money. One of the stable stars who has enjoyed time in France is Manhattan Jungle, an impressive debut winner before a tilt at Royal Ascot after a big money purchase by American owners. On his most recent start, Manhattan Jungle finished fourth in the Group One Prix Morny at Deauville behind the impressive Blackbeard.
