York Dante Festival, May 2025

It would be that time again where all eyes in the racing world would be drawn to York racecourse as the Knavesmire hosted its' season opening festival, the Dante meeting.
The three day spectacular comes hot on the tail of the first Classics of the year and is often perceived as a crucial stop on the road to the next Classic races at Epsom, the Oaks and Derby. The flagship race, the Dante Stakes, will provide clues for the Derby whilst 24 hours earlier, the Musidora Stakes headlines day one to find the newest contenders for the Oaks.
While the premier three year old races headline the meeting, there will plenty of quality on display in all categories as the Clipper Stakes over six furlongs and Yorkshire Cup over just shy of two miles often shed light on the pecking order of the sprint and staying divisions.
It would be an exciting time as one of the country's biggest venues opens its doors for business for the first time in 2025 and racing pilgrims from the area and further beyond converge to watch the action.
