As the seasons change from Summer to Autumn and the shorter days are followed by longer nights, the 2026 season at York racecourse would wind down on another memorable summer with its final meeting of the year. The traditional and popular two day meeting has a variety of quality on display, mostly based around the Rockingham Stakes and Sprint Trophy Handicap on the Saturday. The opening day is also a very informative meeting with the future in mind, courtesy of an ever competitive juvenile maiden contest, a valuable sales race and a staying handicap which has produced plenty of household names.
A high number of local racegoers would flock to the Knavesmire for one last time in 2026, to be served by some exciting racing and warm atmosphere.
