Caballo Racing

Despite having just two horses in training, the two tone blue silks of Caballo Racing are seen regularly on the racecourse up and down the country. Founded in 2017 and overseen by Phillip Walker, Caballo Racing have enjoyed plenty of success thanks to their star horse Muatadel.
The syndicate is a lease based operation, with the potential to import and export racehorses for best fit. Members can enjoy the benefit of not having to pay extra for the costs of new horse puchases. As well as this, members can receive the full raceday experience when their horses run and regular updates from the trainer, John Wainwright.

MUATADEL (Exceed and Excel x Rose Blossom) - Born: 2013
The flag bearer of Cabello Racing and stable legend, affectionately known as "Mutty". Now into the veteran stage of his career, Muatadel is edging closer to his 100th race start. A well bred sprinter as a son of leading sprinter Exceed and Excel and the smart mare Rose Blossom, Muatadel started out life with the Shadwell Stud operation owned by the late Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum. Showing promise as a youngster without winning, he moved from Mark Johnston's stable to Ed Dunlop's yard before finally settling in North Yorkshire with Roger Fell. It was there where Muatadel developed into a smart sprinter with a peak rating of 86 and running in competitive events.
As time went on, Muatadel began to regress and ended up in selling company, winning at Beverley in mid 2019 before being picked up by Caballo Racing. Switching yards once again, this time across Yorkshire, the new scenery perked his interest up and he began to run well once again. The legend of "Mutty" was formed in 2021 with three memorable wins, often at a big starting price. With an aptitude for technical courses such as Beverley, Pontefract and Hamilton, he continues to run well despite his ageing years.

KRAKEN FLORIDA (The Last Lion x Duchess Dora) - Born: 2019.

The latest import to Caballo Racing and one who has shown plenty of promise so far. Racing under the Caballo Dos syndicate, he switched from Borders trainer Iain Jardine to John Wainwright in August 2022. A lightly raced gelding, he is a son of Group One winning juvenile The Last Lion and Duchess Dora, a mare who scored plenty of 'black type'.
Initially given a break after the move down South, trainer John Wainwright felt the gelding would appreciate time to develop physically. Making his debut for the stable and Caballo Racing, Kraken Florida showed hints of ability at long odds. At the turn of the year, Kraken Florida has improved further with two placings at Southwell over six and seven furlongs. The four year old has started to live up to the promise and delivered a first win for his new connections at Newcastle in mid February.
Likely to be a fun horse for the rest of the year as he consistently tries his best and will continue to justify the purchase by Caballo Racing.
